Cooking Method

Preparation

  • Measure the required quantity of Home Grain Ponni Boiled / Sona masuri Rice.
  • Wash the rice two to three times with clean water to reduce excess starch.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the rice is rinsed well to remove excess starch for a better texture after cooking.
  • Let the rice rest for a few minutes after cooking, then gently fluff with a fork for fluffier rice.

Open Pan

  • Take a large pot, add enough water, and bring it to a rolling boil.
  • Add the rinsed rice carefully once the water starts boiling.
  • Cook the rice on medium heat for about 18–20 minutes. If you prefer softer rice, allow it to cook a little longer. Stir the rice gently from time to time to keep it from sticking.

Pressure Cooker

  • Use a 2:1 ratio of water to rice for perfect cooking.
  • Add the rinsed rice and measured water into the pressure cooker.
  • Cook the rice on high heat until three whistles, or cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and let the pressure release naturally for 10–15 minutes before opening the lid.

Electric Rice Cooker

  • Use a 2:1 ratio of water to rice for best results.
  • Add the rinsed rice and measured water into the electric rice cooker.
  • Cook for 20–22 minutes, or until the rice is soft and fluffy.
